The youngest division of KubSMU was created on the basis of the interdepartmental phantom class in 2009 and was named the “Center for Practical Skills”. Since November 2019, the Center for Practical Skills has been operating in the new status of a “Multi-profile accreditation and Simulation Center”. The center is designed for conducting practical classes, current and intermediate attestation, final state attestation of the degree of mastering practical professional skills by students and trainees of the Faculty of Advanced Training and professional retraining of specialists.
The practical skills of graduates are tested annually on the basis of the Center, which is the most important stage of the state final certification, when students demonstrate the practical skills acquired during their studies and the ability to perform therapeutic and diagnostic manipulations, cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques, and possession of medical instruments. The Center also employs students who additionally study surgical disciplines in specialized circles, regional student Olympiads in various disciplines are held, and teams are being trained to participate in the Olympiads. Using the technical capabilities of the Center, an examination is conducted with the issuance of a document on the admission of persons who have not completed higher medical or higher pharmaceutical education, as well as persons with higher medical or higher pharmaceutical education to carry out medical or pharmaceutical activities in positions of secondary medical or secondary pharmaceutical personnel.
The modern equipment of the Center allows for thematic improvements in the following areas: neonatology, obstetrics, gynecology, anesthesiology and intensive care, endoscopy, ultrasound diagnostics, cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
In accordance with the set goals and objectives, the Multi-profile accreditation and simulation Center is equipped with various complexity models, phantoms and simulators from the simplest to high-tech, as close to humans as possible and simulating various manifestations of pathology. There are possibilities for computer simulation of specified clinical situations, their analysis and control.
The Center has organized specialized classrooms and thematic platforms-modules: “Operating room”, “Therapeutic Dentistry”, “Orthopedic Dentistry”, “CAD/CAM” technology, “Surgical dentistry”, “Delivery room”, “Emergency department”, “Nursing Department”, “General Practitioner’s office”, “Pediatrician’s office”, “Ophthalmologist’s office”, “Otolaryngologist’s office”, “Department of manipulations and procedures”, “Educational pharmacy”, “Ultrasound diagnostics and radiography room”, “Department of Endoscopy and Laparoscopy”, “Intensive care unit”.
