Kuban Medical University hosted the first adaptation workshop for the 1st-year
students – international students mastering the educational program in English.
The event was organized by the Russian and international students of the Institute
of Clinical Medicine and the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education within
the framework of the activities of the “QUANTUM CLUB” student club under the
guidance of the teacher – Elina Beikhchan.
During the four days of the intensive program, first-year students learnt about:
• the structure of the Russian medical university and the specifics of studying;
• the rules of living in a dormitory;
• the specifics of the Russian culture and intercultural communication;
• how to make friends in another country;
• Russian social networks;
• the principles of taking notes and working with academic literature;
• time management and productivity;
• the skills of creating effective presentations;
• stress management and maintaining psychological well-being.
There were also roundtable discussions on the key differences in everyday and
academic aspects of life in Russia, and students were able to openly share their
expectations and first impressions.
The workshop ended with a vibrant festive concert. Students enjoyed performances
of the university’s dance groups, warm words of encouragement from senior.
