Zeldina, L.A. Grigorieva, L.P. Busyuk, A.G. Kabardina, Yu.T. Orekhov, etc.).
In 1960, the duties of the head of the department were performed by Andrei Andreevich Frolov, who had previously headed the Latin language course.A.A. Frolov, one of the leaders of the medical and sanitary unit of the 9th Red Army, took an active part in the organization of the medical faculty, and was the first head of the military department of our university.
In 1967, Candidate of Philological Sciences Semyon Moiseevich Kats was elected head of the department.The department is combined with the Latin language course, where S.M.Katz was previously the course director.He created a Programmed Manual for the Latin Language, which was successfully used in other universities.
In 1976, a separate Latin language course was formed at the institute, headed by S.M.Katz.In this regard, the candidate of pedagogical sciences Valentina Aleksandrovna Vereshchagina was elected head of the department.
From 1981 to 1991, the department was headed by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Igor Alekseevich Yurin, who at the same time was the dean for work with foreign students.
From 1993 to 2010, the department was headed by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Albert Vasilievich Deev.
In 2010, the department was headed by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Irina Viktorovna Uvarova.
The Department of Russian Language was created in 1974.The department was created and headed until 1981 by Nina Romanovna Dontsova, who had worked at the university since 1963.All first educational and methodological materials were created with her participation and under her editorship.A great contribution to the formation and development of the department of this period was made by Nina Mishaustovna Nabokova, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor, who worked at the department from 1974 to 1991.
Since January 1982, the department has been headed by Elena Fedorovna Loginova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.The scientific direction of the department was determined - the study and description of the sublanguage of medicine in order to teach it to foreign students.Over the years, teachers of the department have defended 7 candidate dissertations.Since 2002, the department, in addition to teaching Russian to foreign students, has been teaching Russian language and speech culture to Russian first- and second-year students of all faculties.
Currently, the Department of Linguistics is headed by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Irina Viktorovna Uvarova.The department carries out systematic research, teaching, methodological and educational work.Under the leadership of the head of the department, employees regularly publish scientific articles, create teaching aids for undergraduate and graduate students, and take part in interregional, city and intra-university scientific and practical conferences.The scientific direction of the department is the topic “Linguistic support for teaching linguistic disciplines at a medical university.”Since 2010, the department has defended 4 dissertations for the degree of candidate of philological sciences, and 2 more dissertations are being prepared for defense.The department has intensified educational work among both Russian and foreign students.As part of interdepartmental interaction, the Department of Linguistics provides comprehensive assistance to all structural divisions of the university in the preparation and translation into English of methodological support for conducting classes with bilingual foreign students of the Faculty of Medicine.
