Endocrinology
On October 16, 1995, on the initiative of the Department of Health of the Krasnodar Territory, a course in endocrinology was organized at the Faculty of Postgraduate Training of Doctors (FPPT) at the Kuban State Medical Academy.The head of the FPPV endocrinology course since its inception has been Doctor of Medical Sciences Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ivanova.In 2001, the course of endocrinology was transformed into the Department of Endocrinology of the Faculty of Education and Training.Among the first employees of the department were assistants: A.N.Sai, O.N.Rostovtseva, L.S.Malygina, I.V.Korol, senior laboratory assistant T.I.Yatsenko.More than 150 interns and more than 200 residents were trained at the Department of Endocrinology.Every year, more than 100 endocrinologists, pediatricians, therapists, and gynecologists improve their qualifications in the specialty “endocrinology” and “children’s endocrinology”.The average age of the department's teachers is 45 years.
The priority scientific directions of the department are cardiovascular pathology in patients with diabetes mellitus, in diseases of the thyroid gland, in patients with undifferentiated connective tissue dysplasia syndrome, and reproductive endocrinology.Under the scientific guidance of L.A.Ivanova defended 4 candidate's dissertations.Employees of the department published 155 scientific articles and theses, 28 teaching aids.From 2005 to 2020, employees of the department conducted more than 12 international studies.Every year the department holds 2–3 congresses at the interregional level, where employees of the department regularly present their scientific reports.
