The Department of Pediatrics No. 2 was created in 1974 on the basis of the children’s department of the Regional Clinical Hospital named after Professor S.V.Ochapovsky and was headed by Professor Tatyana Petrovna Gryaznova, who managed to organize educational and methodological work at the department in a short time, expand and improve the diagnostic and treatment base.The main educational direction of the department was the teaching of inpatient sections of pediatrics for students of the pediatric faculty.
Pediatrics No. 2
In 1982, during the formation of the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 took an active part in the formation of this medical base.Many doctors and heads of departments of the Children's Clinical Hospital and other medical institutions of the city and region completed clinical internship and residency at the Department of Pediatrics No. 2.
From 1992 to 2012, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergei Aleksandrovich Shadrin.
On September 1, 2011, in order to optimize the educational process, ensure a unified methodological approach to teaching, introduce modern technologies into the medical and diagnostic process and determine the general scientific direction in the main discipline, the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 was merged with the Department of "Childhood Diseases" of the Faculty of Medicine and renamed the Department of Hospital Pediatrics.
The history of the Department of "Childhood Diseases" goes back to the origins of the Kuban Medical Institute. Russian Russian pediatrician Georgy Nesterovich Speransky was the first head of the department. Together with the famous Russian pathologist N.F. Melnikov-Razvedenkov, he took an active part in the organization of the medical faculty of Kuban University and was the head of the Department of "Childhood Diseases" from 1920 to 1921.

Since November 2012, the Department of Hospital Pediatrics has been headed by Alla Vladimirovna Burlutskaya, MD, member of the Council for the defense of the thesis for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, Doctor of Sciences 21.2.01.01 FSBEI HE KubSMU of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation; member of the Editorial board of Doctor and Pharmacy, the international journal Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine; member of the Expert Council of Disaster Medicine of the Ministry of Health Russian Federation; Deputy Chairman of the regional branch of the public organization "Union of Pediatricians of Russia" in the Krasnodar Territory, member of the Union of Pediatricians of Russia; Member of the Association of Pediatric Cardiology and Rheumatology of Russia; member of the Commission of the Department of Pediatrics of the Central Clinical Hospital in the Southern Federal District of the Ministry of Health, Honored Doctor of Russia, Honored Healthcare Worker of Kuban, doctor of the highest category.
In accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard for Higher Education, from September 1, 2014, the Department of Hospital Pediatrics was renamed the Department of Pediatrics No. 2.
The main educational direction of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2, as it was established at its foundation, is the teaching of clinical sections of pediatrics for students of 4,5,6 courses of the Pediatric Faculty, and for students of the 4th and 5th courses of the Faculty of Medicine, pediatrics is taught with a course on pediatric infections.
Currently, the department is located on the basis of leading clinical hospitals in Krasnodar, which allows for not only meaningful clinical practical classes with students, but also comprehensive training of pediatricians in the residency program.
Currently, the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 has a powerful scientific and pedagogical potential, which allows the staff to successfully solve both the issues of teaching students and residents, as well as the problems of clinical science and practice.
