The Department of General Surgery of the FPPV was organized in 1997 in order to provide postgraduate training for surgical doctors.Since September 2024, due to reorganization changes at the University, the unit has been operating under the name “Department of Surgery No. 2” and belongs to the Institute of Continuing Education.Since its founding, under the leadership of the Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alexander Mikhailovich Manuylov, invariably adhering to the ideology of developing the direction of functional surgical gastroenterology, the team has been conducting active clinical and scientific-pedagogical work.The teaching staff of the department is represented by leading specialists of the regional healthcare system: 3 professors, Doctor of Medical Sciences.(Andreev A.V., Sakhno V.D. and Uvarov I.B.), 6 associate professors Ph.D.(Pakhilina A.N., Khubieva F.U., Kirpichev A.A., Kulish V.A., Karablina S.Ya., Zhane A.K.), 3 assistants (candidate of medical sciences Tsymbalyuk I.Yu., Basin E.E., Vartanyan S.A.).Senior laboratory assistant F.B. Gochiyaeva participates in maintaining the educational process and documentation support for management.and laboratory assistant N.D. Butchko
The pedagogical activities of the department are carried out according to its own basic educational programs with the use of modern educational technologies in residency in the specialties of “Surgery” and “Maxillofacial Surgery”, as well as additional professional programs in cycles of professional retraining and advanced training, including those implemented within the framework of the system of continuous medical and pharmaceutical education, in the specialties of “Surgery”, “Maxillofacial surgery”, “Coloproctology”, “Endoscopy” and “Ultrasound diagnostics”.
Most of the department's employees combine scientific and pedagogical activities with active medical and diagnostic advisory work at the relevant clinical bases - multidisciplinary medical institutions equipped with modern high-tech medical, diagnostic and laboratory equipment, in the position of head of the department: V.D. Sakhno.is the head of the surgical department No. 1 of the State Budgetary Institution "KKB No. 2", Uvarov I.B.– Head of the Department of Abdominal Oncology and X-ray Surgical Methods of Diagnostics and Treatment No. 1, State Budgetary Healthcare Institution Code No. 1, Kulish V.A.– Head of the Endoscopic Department of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution “KKBSMP” of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vartanyan S.A.– Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, State Budgetary Institution of Healthcare "KKBSMP" of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Clinical Hospital of Emergency Medical Care in Krasnodar was fundamentally chosen as the main one for the department, since it is in its conditions that practical solutions to the problems that surgeons of the region have to face every day can be most realistically presented.On this basis, the department has classrooms equipped with modern computer and multimedia equipment for conducting classes with residents and students of professional retraining and advanced training cycles, with a total area of more than 130 square meters.
The clinical work of the department’s team is focused primarily on conducting high-precision diagnostics of diseases of the digestive system and the use of precision technology using new surgical technologies for organ-preserving and organ-modeling treatment, aimed not only at saving the patient’s life, but creating the most comfortable conditions for his further living, as well as reducing the period of temporary disability and reducing the risk of developing disability.
Under the guidance of the head and professors of the department, 2 dissertations for the scientific degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences and 20 for the scientific degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences were completed and successfully defended.The originality of the research conducted at the department is confirmed by the registration of the right to 10 objects of intellectual property.The results of dissertation works are introduced into the practical activities of the region's health care facilities and the educational process of the University.Employees of the department annually make presentations at international congresses, conferences, symposia and conventions, and also participate in master classes.The team has prepared and published more than 300 printed works.
