Volunteer Center

The Volunteer Center of the Kuban State Medical University has been operating since 2011.During our work, we have grown from a small club of interests into a large professional structure that operates in all areas of volunteer activity.In 2011, we became the Center for training volunteers to participate in the organization and conduct of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi in 2014 in two areas: “Medicine” and “Doping control”, and in 2017 – the Center for attracting and training volunteers of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi.The Volunteer Center of Kuban State Medical University works both in medical areas and in areas not related to the healthcare sector, namely: • Patriotic;• Interaction with religious organizations;• Ecology;• Culture, city events;• Social volunteering;• Assistance in organizing conferences and intra-university events;• Assistance in organizing major international and national events.Since 2015, the regional branch of the All-Russian public movement “Medical Volunteers” has been operating on the basis of the Center.This movement is dedicated to volunteering in the healthcare sector.All this is done by caring volunteers who want to gain skills and experience in the medical field.Areas related to the healthcare sector: • Volunteer assistance to medical organizations;• Health education;• Programs for schoolchildren;• Healthy lifestyle;• First aid training and event support;• Popularization of personnel donation.In addition, students also have the opportunity to: – talk to the public about a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention at forums and events;- become participants in educational youth festivals, courses and trainings dedicated to medicine and health;- provide volunteer support for major events.The Volunteer Center annually takes leading positions in many competitions in the field of volunteering.Thus, the volunteer center twice became the winner of the All-Russian competition “Volunteer of Russia”.In 2016, we won in the “Medical Volunteering” category.Medical Volunteer”, and in 2017 – “Best regional branch of the All-Russian public movement “Medical Volunteers”.In addition, every year the guys return from various Forums with a lot of positive impressions and awards:

As the President of the Russian Federation V.V. saidPutin, “The will and generosity of citizens who participate in such projects form the atmosphere of common affairs that Russia so badly needs, create colossal social potential, and it must be in demand.It is necessary to remove all barriers to the development of volunteerism and provide comprehensive assistance to socially oriented non-profit organizations.”The profession of a doctor requires from a person not only a high level of professional training, but also the presence of certain moral qualities, first of all, responsiveness, selflessness, sensitivity, and readiness to come to the rescue at any moment, regardless of the circumstances.Therefore, promoting the values ​​of volunteering among students of Kuban State Medical University is traditionally a priority area of ​​educational work.The volunteer movement at the university was formed on the initiative of the students themselves and has existed for several years as a club for various interests: in addition to their main activities, the guys raise funds to help orphanages, children’s departments of medical institutions in Krasnodar, and take care of veteran employees of Kuban State Medical University.Due to the events of 2020-2021.One cannot fail to note the contribution of student volunteers during the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) pandemic.In connection with the introduction in a number of constituent entities of the Russian Federation of enhanced measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, from March 21, 2020 to the present day, the All-Russian mutual assistance action #WeAreTogether has been implemented.As part of the project, volunteer medical students of the Kuban State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia carry out the following types of work: • work in medical institutions;• work as operators of the “Hotline” of the Ministry of Health of the Krasnodar Territory and call centers of clinics;• work in the regional volunteer headquarters for helping older people in the situation of the spread of coronavirus infection.
